Barlestone is an attractive, medium sized village with around 2000 residents, situated about 12 miles from Leicester near the market town of Market Bosworth in the West of the County
The village has three active Churches, St. Giles in Church Road, the Baptist Church is at the junction of Newbold Road and Main Street and opposite is The Elohim Christian Church.
There is a Hairdressers, Co-op (incorporating the Post Office), Fish & Chip shop, Chinese Takeaway, one Indian restaurant and the Three Tuns pub.
A Doctors surgery can be found in Westfields, Dentist in Osbaston,and Libraries nearby at Market Bosworth, Newbold Verdon and Desford, along with regular visits from the mobile library
Barlestone St.Giles Football club is located up Saints Walk at the side of the cemetery and often have entertainment in the evenings.
The Bowls Club is situated on the Playing Fields, Bosworth Road.
Defibrillators are situated near the notice board at The Wheel in the centre of the village, the Telephone kiosk on Church Road and another outside the Community Centre at the Playing field on Bosworth Road
